Initially, I use collage as the basis to create the paintings.
Its versatility proves invaluable in generating ideas towards
a final composition.
The outcome is determined from a selection of resources,
including a variety of materials, discarded objects and photographs.
I find an appeal in the banality and insignificance of certain things,
that gives new meaning to the ordinary when considered
within the context of an artwork.
The paintings titles originate from the completed work.
They help define my own objectives towards a meaning
and provide a reference for the viewers understanding,
that sometimes proves difficult when dealing with abstract painting.
